When Carmen called us last year to chat about what her dream wedding would look like and how we would capture it, we had such a fun chat. Her sweet bubbly voice had me so excited to meet her in person. She told me all about her love for photos and how important it was to her and Aaron to have really nice photos of their special day. We are always so honored when our couples choose us because we know how much these photos will mean to them the rest of their lives. It just puts us on top of the world knowing that they trust that we can give them that experience!
Carmen is a very successful blogger, and her personal photos are already so good that we knew we had big shoes to fill for their engagement photos. She always does such an amazing job of showing the world who she is and how much love her and Aaron share, so we knew they would be easy to capture!
We started off meeting up with the two of them downtown Baton Rouge at Capital City Grill for a drink and a little chatting. Watching the two of them giggle at each other was the cutest thing. We talked all about how they met and they explained to us that a good bit of their relationship has been long distance. Aaron actually moved from Lafayette to Baton Rouge for a job, or was it to be closer to Carmen? We will never tell! ; ) They were able to spend lots of time together, but then Aaron had a wonderful job opportunity in Houston that he could not pass on. But there was something else that he could not pass on, and that was spending the rest of his life with Carmen. He knew that he did not want to be away from the love of his life again, so he put a ring on her finger and loaded her and her belongings into the Uhaul and whisked her away with him!
They wanted their engagement photos to be taken in Baton Rouge because that is where they spent most of their dating days together. The grounds of the state capital and the levy are memorable places for the both of them, so we were sure to capture that exciting love they share for one another in these places. Watching the way they looked at each other was inspiring. It’s so obvious the two of them share something super special that will last a lifetime, and we are so happy to be a part of it all!
