Some of our favorite engagement sessions start at the home of our couples. We just feel like it’s such a great way to get to know them, and we think it really makes for a fun time! We treat our engagement sessions pretty much like a double date. We love just chatting and hanging out, doing what our couples love to do together, and well of course we snap and few photos in the mix. We want their photos to reflect this really special time in their lives. We want them to have photos of this time to hang on their walls throughout their marriage, so that when life gets tough they always have a little something to remind them of the love they truly share.
Caroline and Micheal really love and appreciate the property where they live. It belongs to Micheal’s family, and it’s very special to them in so many ways. So, they wanted they’re engagement photos to be taken there. They knew they loved their property, but had no idea how much we would too! : ) The country is like a wonderland to us. We absolutely love nature, so we were so excited to see what was in store!
When we arrived, Caroline and Micheal had prepared an array of delicious snacks for us. It was so fun just snacking, chatting, and getting to know the two of them. After a glass (or two ; ) of wine, we headed outside to hang out with their sweet horse and cute pup. We definitely couldn’t leave them out! In the distance, we spotted some old silos. We asked if we could go there for a few photos, and Micheal kindly replied, “Of course! Those are our family’s old rice silos. They haven’t been used in years!” Even though we knew he trusted us, there was a bit of uncertainty on his face. I’m sure they were thinking we were crazy for wanting to take photos there, but these came out so AMAZING!! The old rustic silos, the sunlight, the place where their family has worked so hard, it was all just so dreamy! Then, Micheal asked if we could take some photos down the road where the rice fields were because they were just so special to him. We were so happy that he suggested it, because the photos there just finished the session so perfectly!
