When we first spoke with Jonathan and Lyndsey, we knew we were going to love them! They were so sweet and enthusiastic about getting married, but kept expressing how shy they were in front of the camera. We assured them that they weren’t the only ones who feel that way, gave them lots of prep talk, wardrobe tips, and assurance that we could make them look just as adorable as all of the other amazing couples we’ve photographed. So, they totally trusted us, and showed up the day of the engagement session looking super cute with big giddy smiles!
We met at the Acadiana Park Nature Station. They decided that it would be the perfect place for their engagement photos because it had tennis courts and nature trails, two of their passions in life! We sat and had a glass of wine on a picnic table right outside one of the trails. It was the perfect afternoon! The sun was hiding behind the clouds for most if the day, which gave us lots of shade and a few cool breezes.
As we chatted, we learned that Lyndsey grew up in Alaska and New Zealand. While she was living in New Zealand, she decided to take a road trip through the U.S. and stopped in Lafayette, LA while driving through to visit New Orleans. She says when she stopped and saw all of the beauty here, she felt the love of the community as well, and she felt right at home! After returning back to New Zealand, she really just felt Lafayette was calling her back. So she picked up and moved here, not really knowing anyone. What a fun and brave thing to do! Makes us so proud of our home town!
She loves to play tennis, so she started teaching it. Soon after, along came a cute guy with a great swing! A few weeks later, they ended up on the same tennis team, and since then they have been inseparable! Now, two cute pups later, they are ready to spend their lives together!
So after a refreshing glass of wine to get the nerves out, and some great conversation, we headed to the tennis court for a quick match, then headed to the beautiful nature trails for sunset! Looking back at their photos, we think they represent who they are and their relationship so well. Both very humble, down to Earth, and love to laugh together. They make the cutest couple! The whole afternoon was spent with lots of fun and laughs, just like we like it!
