So much excitement with this wedding, where do we begin???
We have known Josh for several years, so let’s start at the coffee shop where we first met the love of his life. Evan was even more lovely than we could have imagined, and we knew they had found something in one another that we all hope to find. Seeing the two of them so excited about their big day was so dang cute! We caught up on life, and chatted all about the wedding details. We talked about how great a fall engagement session would be, and had so much fun planning cute fall outfits for the two of them to wear. A few months later we met up again for their engagement session, and it couldn’t have gone any more perfectly. There were so many laughs! If you missed it, check it out here! Before we knew it, it was their wedding day! Honestly, we are super excited about every wedding we photograph. There’s just something so amazing about love, especially the kind that is not shy to promise a lifetime to one another. But, this one was quite a bit different. We were able to photograph and witness something that were never able to before.
It was only a few short years ago that two people of the same gender were given the privilege to share this magical promise we call marriage, and it just so happened that Josh and Evan had fallen deeply in love around that same time. We can’t even imagine the joy and excitement they must have felt the day it actually became legal. Something the two of them had been waiting for for a lifetime, and probably thought would never happen. What an exciting time in history for many many people! There was no doubt in either of their minds that there would be a celebration of their love for one another, and soon Josh proposed to Evan in the beautiful state of Colorado.
Their wedding day at the gorgeous Ashley Manor in Baton Rouge was a day we’ll never forget. It was a day of love, laughter, and the coming together of two souls madly in love. It was also a celebration of human kind. All day there was a feeling in the air that is almost indescribable. It was as if nothing else in the world mattered. Everyone felt as though they could just be themselves. People were just people, love was just love, and there was absolutely no judgement.
It was freedom!
Towards the end of the night, the entire room of guests circled around Josh & Evan as they danced one last time together. Photos cannot even begin to express the feeling of love in that room at that moment. These two men are so loved, and we couldn’t be happier for them!
