You would think it would be easy to write a blog about your own brother’s wedding. But you would be wrong. It’s not the lack of things to talk about that gets you, it’s the over abundance that really bogs you down. From gaining a new sister, to gaining a new nephew, all the help planning, the gathering of friends and family, not to mention shooting a wedding that you’re actually in…where do you start?
The laughing, the dancing, and all around good time we had during bridal prep? The fathers seeing their little girl in her wedding dress for the first time? I guess I could describe the look on Landry’s face when he recited his vows. As the last cool breeze of the dying days of spring blew across the lake of the Cedar Post Barn. Or maybe I could talk about the tears held back by everyone in the room when Britney pledged her undying devotion to her new step daughter (or was that just me?). Maybe I could describe the feeling in my heart as we watched your first dance, where all four of you guys huddled together in the middle of the dance floor as a family. Or perhaps seeing the two of you alone in the limo at the end of a long night, with Landry looking happier than I’ve ever seen in all the years I’ve known him.
It’s simply too hard to pick a favorite moment…because we love them all. Almost as much as we love you guys. We are so happy that you two found each other! And we are forever grateful for the new family we’ve gained because of it. We know that planning a wedding isn’t easy, but it was soooooo worth it to see you two pledge your lives to each other. Welcome to the family! Like it or not, you’re stuck with us!!!
